Karen's is easily one of the best places to grab authentic Mexican food in Itasca. The food is absolutely the star of the show and deserves a full 5 stars. Everything tastes homemade, fresh, and packed with flavor. The homemade tortillas are incredible and make every meal even better. If you're visiting for breakfast, the breakfast burritos are a must-try, and the brisket tacos are some of the best I've had in the area. The service was good overall, earning about 4 stars in my opinion. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and while there was a bit of a wait during a busy time, everyone worked hard to make sure customers were taken care of. They created a comfortable and family-friendly experience. The atmosphere is also a solid 4 stars. It's a casual, local restaurant with a relaxed and authentic feel rather than a fancy dining experience. LOVEEE their burritos. There tortillas are the bomb! I drench my burritos in their green sauce it’s so good! The inside is a little rough looks wise, but don’t let it scare you away! You can tell their food is made with love. It’s a nice home-y feeling.
